Final Thoughts

Hopefully. by now, you're ready to recognize that oral language is the foundation of early literacy instruction. Ideally, our Kindergarteners leave with a full knowledge of letter sounds and their corresponding names. Remember the  key components / benchmarks for  our Kindergarten kiddos:

  • Build their phonological awareness by playing silly sound games

  • Embracing repeated readings

  • Reading from informational texts
